Alberta Retina Consultants is looking for a Registered Nurse. Requirements include the following:
Must be:
- Licensed RN with CARNA
- ACLS certified
- BCLS certified
- Confident and experienced with IV starts
- A hard worker, able to adapt to a fast paced clinic setting
- A team player, able to work closely with a number of different staff members
- Caring, compassionate and sociable, able to work 1:1 with nervous patients
- Critical thinking, able to treat patients calmly and effectively during emergency situations (ie. diabetic emergencies)
Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse at Alberta Retina Consultants, you will be educating and prepping patients for their fluorescein angiogram. A fluorescein angiogram is a procedure which requires the patient to be injected with fluorescein, via IV, to help the physician better visualize the blood flow to the patient’s retina. As the RN, you will be starting the patient’s IV, administering the fluorescein and managing any adverse reactions that occur after administration. In addition to overseeing this procedure, you will also be providing care to any patients visiting the clinic who require your assistance.
